Welcome to “Exploring The Shadow With Tarot”. We’re so glad you found this program and are interested in journeying into the shadow with the aid of tarot. Shadow work has been an ongoing and important part of our personal practice for many years. It’s something we’ve always wanted to talk more about, but couldn’t quite figure out the most comfortable or appropriate way to do so. In 2020, we shared some material online, hesitated, pulled back, reworked it and then in 2021, Julia conducted a workshop around tarot and shadow work through Pull Pen Paint. Since then, we’ve considered how we want to share more on this topic, and decided that an accessible approach would be to present it as a go-at-your-own-pace free course. This way, we can offer bite-sized musings, in an accessible format, which we hope will spark further insight.
Before You Begin:
To get the most out of this material, you may want to have a journal handy to record your thoughts, as well as a tarot/oracle deck for any card pulls.
Bare in mind that while there is always value on the surface of these lessons, we have found that there is even more to be gained by reading between the lines and observing what happens behind the scenes of your life.
We would encourage you to read Tim’s post about the shadow. Whether these are familiar concepts or not, it is a perfect precursor to the work ahead.
Some lessons will include a “draw a card” prompt. When you see this, if you feel called, use your tarot or oracle deck to draw a card to answer the question suggested. If you’re struggling to make sense of the card you pulled, simply record it or take a picture and return to it later. It is often the case, as we do this inner work, that we need some time to sit with the messages that are coming through.
Some days will also include “actions” or “reflections”. These are intended to help you expand on the topic for that day and allow for greater integration.
If you need a hand, have a question or require a bit of support, please feel free to get in touch!
