Judgement & 3 of Cups
Judgement & 3 of Cups
Analysis:
The figures in both cards posture in a similar way i.e. arms extended or raised up.
Aspects of ritual are present in each scene though the applications differs. In Judgment, the human figures hold their arms in specific and symbolic ways. In the 3 of Cups, the figures are engaged in dance which is an important feature of many ritualistic traditions.
The trumpet bears resemblance to the Cup, and both of these items demonstrate components of giving/receiving.
Speaking of sound, there are musical elements evident in both images. The trumpet is an instrument of music, the 7 lines emanating from it representing the 7 notes. The figures in the 3 of Cups are dancing, which may imply music/sound is present.

Possible Interpretation:
There is a lot to celebrate when these two cards show up! Because we’re dealing with a Major and a Minor card, it could be to say that what is unfolding may hold spiritual as well as mundane significance. Each card indicates a kind of “coming together”. In this, we are willing to see ourselves as some kind of interconnected whole, rather than wholly separate. How can we meet the experiences of our daily life in a similar way? How can we contribute to and connect with those around us? This invitation to greet and be greeted by connection seems to be a central theme. Furthermore, it is interesting to note that if you place the 3 of Cups overtop Judgement, so that just the angel is present, you have a perfectly blended scene in front of you. This may speak to the ever-present call of Spirit, regardless of the activity at hand, whether it is blatantly spiritual or something more day-to-day.
